Agentic Artificial Intelligence: Harnessing AI Agents to Reinvent Business, Work & Life

Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to evolve quickly, perhaps too quickly for all of us to keep up. One of the current innovations is agentic AI, which can accomplish specific tasks for you with minimal programming or coding. Pascal Bornet and his vast team shows us how these innovations can help our lives and our work.

Why did I pick up this book? I kept hearing the words “agentic AI” without really having a strong grasp with what it was. I knew about generative AI and its superior grasp of language. I had no clue how to get an AI to do work for me. After reading this book, I see I still have more to learn, but I am clued in much more.

AI agents are able to do specific tasks or even figure out new solutions to complex tasks. They aren’t ready for full autonomy, however. The authors, based on years of consulting experience, make this clear, but work on full autonomy continues. The authors illustrate how current technology might look in a company and how the company can avoid common pitfalls.

They also illustrate the beginnings of how to implement such agents, but as someone engaged in software development, I remain wanting to learn more about this topic. They identify proprietary packages to start no-code or low-code solutions to complex problems. That topic probably deserves its own book.

Overall, keeping up with AI is an incessant burden for those of us engaged in business life today. Without a doubt, our lives are being transformed at a fast pace, and those who keep up will be primed for coming years. This book informs readers – particularly those engaged in business and not necessarily IT – how they can adapt to this changing environment.
